VS.1 Overview

The student will develop responsible citizenship and develop skills for historical and geographical analysis including the ability to

  1. identify and interpret artifacts and primary and secondary source documents to understand events in history;

  2. determine cause and effect relationships;

  3. compare and contrast historical events;

  4. draw conclusions and make generalizations;

  5. make connections between past and presents;

  6. sequence events in Virginia History;

  7. interpret ideas and events from different historical perspectives;

  8. evaluate and discuss issues orally and in writing;

  9. analyze and interpret maps to explain relationships among landforms, water features, climactic characteristics, and historical events.

Sirvaitis, Karen.
